  1. Cut pears in wedges
  2. Pour off only a small amount of juice
  3. Dump rest of juice and pears in crock pot
  4. Add sugar and stir
  5. Cook on high to start simmering
  6. Cook slow uncovered, stirring occasionally, about 2 hours (longer if you like them moderately candied like grandma used to make in the canner)

  3. Cut biscuits in quarters, press in bottom and sides of mini muffin tins that have been sprayed

  1. Process cream cheese, yogurt, mayonnaise, cilantro, lime juice, hot sauce and salt in food processor for 30-45 seconds until smooth
  2. Stir in chopped red peppers and chopped green onions
  3. Cover and chill for 1 hour
  4. Slice your squash and zucchini into ¼-inch rounds and place them in a bowl with 4 cups cold water and ¼ teaspoon salt
  5. Chill for 30 minutes, drain and pat dry

  1. Cut sausages into chunks and place in crock pot to cook for 30-45 minutes on high
  2. Stir occasionally
  3. Remove sausages from crock pot and drain juices
  4. Place sausages back into the crock pot and add the box of light brown sugar on top
  5. Pour the pineapples and their syrup on top of the sausages and brown sugar, cover and simmer on high for 20-25 minutes

  2. Place mixture on wax paper and form a ball, chill in refrigerator for one hour
  3. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  4. Roll out the dough until thin
  5. Cut out 1-inch circles using a bottle cap or small cookie cutter
  6. Put 1 pecan half in center, fold dough over and seal edges with a fork
  7. Bake about 15 minutes, until brown

  1. Meat Shells: In a medium bowl combine all 3 ingredients; mix well
  2. Press mixture into bottom and sides of tiny tart pans, set aside
  3. Filling: Combine sour cream, taco sauce, olives and ¾ cup tortilla chips
  4. Spoon this filling into each shell, mounding slightly
  5. Combine remaining chips and cheese, sprinkle over each tartlet
  6. Bake at 375 degrees for 10 minutes
  7. Garnish with taco sauce

  5. Add Velveeta cheese and stir until cheese is melted
  6. Spread on party rye bread

  8. These appetizers also can be frozen for an easy, make-ahead dish
  9. To freeze: place unbaked appetizers on a cookie sheet and freeze
  10. Remove from sheet and store in an airtight container in the freezer until ready to use
