Instructions
  1. Brown venison and beef
  2. Add tomato sauce, beans and chili seasoning and mix
  3. Cover and simmer 20 minutes

  • 1 1/2 cups sour cream
  • Salt and pepper

Instructions
  1. Cook bacon pieces in heavy soup pot until they start to brown
  2. Add onion and celery and cook until just soft
  3. Sprinkle in flour and cook for 3 more minutes
  4. Add water, broth and potatoes
  5. Slowly bring to a boil
  6. Reduce heat and simmer until the potatoes are soft
  7. Ladle 3 cups of soup broth into separate bowl
  8. Whisk sour cream into broth until blended, then whisk back into pot
  9. Heat for 3 minutes longer
  10. Add seasonings to taste
  11. Serve warm with fresh-baked cornbread or crackers

Instructions
  1. Cook and stir ground beef in dutch oven until light brown
  2. Drain and add onions, cabbage and celery
  3. Cook until vegetables are light brown
  4. Stir in tomatoes, kidney beans (with liquid), water, salt, pepper and chili powder
  5. Heat to boiling, reduce heat
  6. Stir baking mix and milk together to form a soft dough
  7. Drop by spoonfuls into boiling stew
  8. Cook uncovered for 10 minutes
  9. Cover and cook 10 more minutes
  10. Makes 4-6 servings

  • 1/2 cup fresh cranberries, rinsed and sorted
  • 1 pound red potatoes, sliced

Instructions
  1. Place potatoes in a five-quart roasting pan; add onions, peppers and sausage and toss gently
  2. Mix oil, salt and pepper; pour over meat and vegetables and stir to coat
  3. Cover and bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes
  4. Stir and add cream, cover and bake 30-40 minutes longer or until potatoes are tender
  5. Mix cornstarch and water and add to stew
  6. Place pan on stove top and bring to a boil, stirring constantly, until thickened
  7. Makes 10-12 servings
