Please join us for our 31st year celebrating the diversity of Native American culture in Alabama on Saturday May 19th from 10am -5pm. This Alabama Bicenntenial Event will be hosting Native American living historians will be demonstrating different time periods and skills. There will also be arts and crafts booths, free hand’s on children’s activities, live birds of prey and concessions. The dance arena will feature Native American drum groups, flute music, dance demonstrations, and song in native southeastern languages. Our amphitheater will showcase country, gospel, and bluegrass music.
Learn about flint knapping, pottery making, weaving, and trading traditions of the past. There will also be $1 activities such as face-painting, canoe rides, & wagon rides. The park also hosts a 5k walking trail and this is a family friendly event with something for all ages. Please note that pets are not allowed on school system property and our park does not allow tobacco products, alcohol, or firearms. Admission is free. There is a $5 parking donation. We host pre-registered pre-K through 6th grade groups on Friday from 8am to 3pm. We are open to the general public on Saturday from 10am-5pm. Our festival saw over 12,000 visitors last year and we hope to see a similar crowd this year.
