Don’t miss the annual Dothan Indian Artifact Show, Saturday, August 8th at the Westgate Gym on Ross Clark Circle. The show will be open from 8:00 to 3:00 pm, for only a $2.00 donation fee. Kids welcome, plenty of parking, and onsite barbeque for lunch.
This is the 13th show, sponsored by Troy Futral, who has been collecting Native American artifacts for forty plus years. Futral donates the proceeds from the show to four archeological societies, including Peach State, Rebel State, Sunshine State, and Tristate.
You will find artifacts such as pipes, pottery, spears, arrowheads, clothing, jewelry, and books at reasonable prices. There will also be educational displays for Pre-columbian artifacts, Civil War memorabilia, fossils, and other Southern antiquities.
This is a family show. So be sure to bring the kids. There were about 2000 people at the show last year & we expect at least that many again this year. There will be a flint knapping demo, homemade cookies, cakes, and brownies, T-shirts, jewelry making, and there’s a playground on site.
There’s also a raffle throughout the day.
