Jenny Parrott’s 3+ octave voice is harmonically evolved, rich in overtones, and lights up a room whether she’s singing in English or Spanish. Kinky Friedman says her compositions are the “best songs I’ve heard since Christ was a cowboy.” Parrott has been singing to herself since she was four and writing songs for over a decade. The Austin girl founded and co-founded two bands, including the western swing pop trio Shotgun Party. She has played in maximum security prisons, a Black Panther Reunion party, and every basement from here to New York. Look out for her soon to be released debut solo album of pop and R&B songs, and check out her intersectional feminist weekly show/webcast the “Jenny Parrott Show” live at Dozen Street in East Austin, and online on Concert Window, 6:00 PM-8:00 PM Thursdays.
Concerts on the Dock started as a small gathering of music lovers back in 2008, and has since grown into an institution in the Huntsville music scene. This free, family friendly series is all about creating a laid back atmosphere for friends of Lowe Mill A&E to enjoy original content and interesting new acts, Friday nights during the Spring and Fall. Bring chairs, picnics, friends, and pets on a leash and join us under the water tower!
Concerts on the Dock are always free but we ask a $5 suggested parking donation. Please Carpool!
