Are you wanting to bring relaxation into your life, but meditating or sitting still feel impossible? Handwork could be the answer to bringing relaxation into your life. Join instructor Kimberly Hart to learn the art of hand sewing. Hand sewing is very meditative and helps you to stay or become calm and relaxed, and can reduce stress and ruminating thoughts. Or you may just want to learn a new, fun skill!
You will layer, stitch, and embellish your way to a textural work of art! Join us November 18th in the North Floor Gallery to create a free-form embroidered doll.
Ages from 12 to 92 are welcome and the class is open to all levels of skill, from beginner to advanced. In the class, you will learn several embroidery stitches and leave with a doll, new skills, and a new way to bring relation into your life.
Kimberly will offer a small travel sewing kit which includes a case, needles, and floss. In addition, she will have transfer pens, fabric, stuffing, embroidery hoops, scissors, beads, and buttons available for your use. If you have favorite embroidery tools, beads, and/or buttons you would like to use, feel free to bring them along. You are also welcome to bring a snack, meal, and beverage with you.
Most supplies are included but you may wish to bring: embroidery hoops, scissors, beads, and buttons.
The class is $45 with a minimum of 6 students and a maximum of 12. There are no refunds on class fees. Please register online here.
