Join us the third Wednesday of the month for Lowe Mill Out Loud! Beginning at 6:00pm there will be an open mic for all wishing to participate, where speakers will be able to have 5 minutes to share their work, or a cover poem of their choosing.
Then this month we will have a feature with Jimmy Robinson. Join us in celebration of the publishing of Jimmy Robinson‘s chapbook collection The Caterpillars at Saint Bernard by Mule on a Ferris Wheel press. James Miller Robinson studied poetry writing with Tom Rabbitt and Everette Maddox at the University of Alabama. He did further graduate studies at in Latin American Literature at the National Autonimous University of Mexico and in Secondary Education at Alabama A&M. Jimmy’s attention to detail and vivid vocabulary will captivate listeners and readers alike.
Lowe Mill Out Loud is dedicated to fostering new voices and encouraging participation, so even if you have never been to an open mic before, please come on down and hear some new interesting voices and share! In an effort to bring the art of spoken word and poetry to Lowe Mill, this event free and open to everyone, though donations are greatly appreciated and will go directly to keeping Lowe Mill Out Loud going. Jimmy will also have his book available for purchase.
