Out Loud HSV monthly open mic and features create a space for literary arts and spoken word to grow! Join us in Pizzelle’s Confections, studio RR4 at Lowe Mill ARTS & Entertainment, for this event. Come early to sign up for the open mic, where you will have 5 minutes to share your work. Then we will have a 30 minute feature with Alicia Cole!

Alicia Cole is a writer and visual artist in Huntsville, AL. Her work has recently appeared in Anima, Star*Line, and TAB: The Journal of Poetry & Poetics and is forthcoming in Breath & Shadow. She’s the Interviews Editor for Black Fox Literary Magazine, and she works for Femspec. She also edits Priestess & Hierophant Press,, where she self-published her first collection: Darkly Told, an audio chapbook. She’s been nominated multiple times for Best of the Net and the Dwarf Star Awards, and she won Honorable Mention in Hermeneutic Chaos’ 2016 Jane Lumley Prize for Emerging Writers. Out Loud HSV is dedicated to fostering new voices and encouraging participation, so even if you have never been to an open mic before, please come on down and hear some new interesting voices and share! This is a free show, but donations are strongly encouraged. Doors at 6:00 PM, show begins at 6:30 PM.
