On Sunday, Nov. 2, the inaugural Sunday Supper Gulf Coast will take place inside Historic Fort Gaines’ open-air kitchen with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres from 12-2 p.m., and a seated dinner from 2-4 p.m. Sunday Supper Gulf Coast will raise funds to support the James Beard Foundation’s culinary scholarship program, a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization. Chefs Chris Hastings, a James Beard Foundation Award winner and owner of Hot and Hot Fish Club in Birmingham, Ala., and Rob McDaniel, executive chef at SpringHouse Restaurant in Alexander City, Ala., will host the event alongside a crew of 10 James Beard Award-winning and -nominated chefs from across the South. Participating chefs will come together to cook up a creatively unexpected sea-to-fork, family-style dinner featuring fresh seafood with a touch of the best available bycatch.
