Underneath a huge white tent, the parish of Saint George Melkite Catholic Church will host its 34th Annual Middle Eastern Food Festival. With homemade Middle Eastern Food, live music and dance, the sights and sounds will be reminiscent of a Middle Eastern wedding!

 

Amin Sultan, an internationally recognized Arabic artist, and his band will play songs often performed at wedding receptions.Along, with the band, parish dance troupes, clad in colorful costume will perform. Foot stomping dancers will encourage members of the audience to join in on the dance floor!

This year, Saint George will celebrate its 34TH annual Middle Eastern Food Festival on Thursday, September 17 thru Saturday, September 19. Proceeds will benefit local charities and maintenance of the church. Food will be served all day, Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 10:30 A.M. to 9:00 P.M. Downtown delivery will be available for lunch on Thursday and Friday with a $75.00 minimum order. For takeout and delivery call 492-9621.

A drive through service will operate until 7:00 P.M. Most major credit cards accepted.

Informative church tours will be conducted during festival hours of operation.

Homemade foods include Kibbee, rolled grape leaves, Mediterranean style chicken. A tasty selection of vegetarian foods include spinach pies, falafel, and hummos. A wide variety of pastries and cakes will be available at the “mile long” sweet booth.

 

Various vendors will feature: hand crafted olive wood from the Holy Land; Byzantine icons and literature; glass jewelry made from the church’s original stained glass; and St. George’s Middle Eastern food cookbook, “Our Favorite Recipes”.
