This exhibit is endorsed by Alabama Bicentennial Commission and features the role that Baldwin County played in the World Wars, from individuals serving their country to the Navy Fields that trained future pilots and “Operation Ivory Soap” training taking place at the Grand Hotel at Point Clear. ¬†The exhibit also looks at the home-front with War rations, sewing with feed sacks with a display of WWII era clothes. The exhibit also covers the two satellite Prisoner of War Camps, U-boats in the Gulf of Mexico and post-War the “Ghost Fleet” of Liberty ships that called the Mobile Delta home. ¬†Admission is free and the museum is open Wed. thru Sat.
