  • 1 16 ounce tablespoon sugar
  • 1 17 ounce (2 ounces) sliced pimento, drained
  • 1 10 ounce (12 ounces) semisweet chocolate morsels

  • 1 1/4 cups rhubarb, 1/2-inch pieces

Instructions
  1. Mix ingredients in a non-metal bowl and stir gently
  2. Cover and let stand at room temperature for 3 weeks, stirring twice a week
  3. Use for friendship fruit mixture pr serve over ice cream or pound cake, reserving at least 1 cup starter at all times
  4. To replenish starter add 1 cup sugar and 1 of the ingredients every 1 to 3 weeks, alternating fruit each time
  5. Cover and let stand at room temperature three days before servings
  6. Makes 6 cups
  7. Apricot or peach brandy may be substituted
