  • Self-rising flour
  • 2 cups jam (any kind, but preferably homemade blackberry with the seeds in and nothing used but sugar and berries to make the jam)
  • 2 tablespoons pecans (chopped or whole, whichever you prefer)

Instructions
  1. First, sift flour into a shallow bowl, around 5 inches high and 12 inches wide
  2. Fill pan at least half full of flour
  3. Second, pat down flour in center to form a crater
  4. Third, pour buttermilk into it
  5. Add oil and mix in flour with your hand until it is the right consistency to pinch off
  6. Pinch off dough and place biscuits in a baking pan
  7. The sooner you do this, the lighter your biscuits will be
  8. After all the biscuits have been put onto the pan, lightly oil the tops and bake at 425 degrees about 15 to 20 minutes making sure not to bake too long
