  • 5 large whipping cream or half and half
  • 2 14.5 ounce russet potatoes (about 3 ¾ pounds), peeled and cut into ½-inch cubes
  • Generous sour cream (optional)

Instructions
  1. Place potatoes and broth in a saucepan
  2. Bring to a boil over high heat
  3. Cover and cook on medium heat 10 minutes or until potatoes are tender
  4. Drain; reserve broth
  5. Mash potatoes with 1 ¼ cups broth and pepper
  6. If needed, add additional broth until potatoes are desired consistency
  7. Serves about 6
