Ingredients
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 2 cups Proof Pie Crust:
  • 3/4 cup grated mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup of lemon juice, optional
  • 1 14 ounce brown rice
  • 11/3 cups garlic, finely chopped
  • 1/3 cup cans black-eyed peas with liquid
  • 3 eggs sugar or sugar substitute
  • 1 18 ounce can diced tomatoes and green chilies

Instructions
  1. First step to prepare this recipe is to use directions to prepare cake mix
  2. Pour half the batter in a 13x9-inch pan and bake at 350 degrees for about 15 minutes
  3. Set aside to cool
  4. In a double boiler, add caramels, milk and butter, stirring constantly until melted
  5. Pour melted caramel over cooling cake
  6. Sprinkle pecans and chocolate chips on the top
  7. Pour remaining batter on top, then bake about 20 minutes or until set
  8. Turtle cake can be made as a sheet cake or a layer cake as shown in photo
