Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees
  2. Spray a cast iron skillet (small) with Cooking Spray/ Add buttermilk and oil to flour
  3. Stirring well, until well blended with a fork, until you get it to the desired thickness
  4. Pour into prepared skillet
  5. Bake in preheated oven for 10-15 minutes, or until desired brownness, and until done
  6. Place into serving dish
  7. Cut into serving sizes
  8. Enjoy! Serve with syrup, jelly, preserves or just by itself
  9. Note: You can also pour your batter into flour, knead well and roll into desired biscuits, if desired
  10. I also have a “heart shaped” muffin tin, that I just spoon batter into, and it works well, too
Recipe Notes

When I got married I wanted to cook Biscuits like my mother-in-laws, because they were so good. Buy you could knock a barn down with my biscuits. Eventually I watched my brother's wife prepare biscuits, mixing them with a fork, so I found this recipe in a cookbook, tried it, and the rest is history. My grandson calls the Wheel - Spokes!!!!
My father-in-law would cook this when his wife was either away or sick, and he always called it a Wheel.
