Fried Ice Cream

1 pint ice cream
½ cup crushed cornflakes or cookie crumbs
2 teaspoons sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 egg
Vegetable oil, for deep-frying
Whipped cream
Scoop 4 or 5 balls of ice cream into a bowl and place in the freezer. Combine the cornflakes, sugar and cinnamon in a bowl. Roll the ice cream balls in half the crumb mixture. Return to the freezer. Beat the egg in a bowl. Dip the ice cream balls in the egg and roll in the remaining crumbs. Return to the freezer. Preheat oil to 350 degrees in a deep-fryer. Place ice cream ball in the fryer basket, fry for 1 minute. Remove to a dessert plate. Drizzle with honey and top with whipped cream. Repeat with the remaining ice cream balls. Yield 4-5 servings.
