Tomato and Pepper Relis

2 cups vinegar

1 cup sugar

1/2 cup salt

4 pounds hot yellow onions

2 pounds hot pepper

3 tablespoons pickling spices (tied up in a clean cloth)

1/2 bushel ripe tomatoes, peeled and cored

Mix all ingredients in a large dish pan and bring to a boil. Turn down heat to a simmer and cook about 4 hours on medium heat. Stir often to prevent sticking. Pour into pint jars and seal while hot.
