Cinnamon Coffee Cake

1 cup butter, softened
1 3/4 cups sugar, divided
2 teaspoons vanilla
4 eggs
3 cups all purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
2 cups (16 ounce-oucnes) sour cream
2 tablespoons cinnamon
3/4 cup pecans, chopped
In a small bowl combine cinnamon, 3/4 cup sugar and pecans; set aside. In large mixing bowl, cream butter and remaining 2 cups of sugar until fluffy. Add vanilla. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Combine all dry ingredients. Add alternately with sour cream, beating just enough after each addition to keep batter smooth. Spoon 1/3 of batter into a greased and floured 10-inch tube pan. Sprinkle 1/3 of cinnamon mixture over the batter in pan. Repeat layers 2 more times. You will end with cinnamon mixture on top of the cake batter. Bake at 350 degrees for 70 minutes or until cake tests done. Cool in pan for 20 minutes. Remove from pan to wire rack to cool completely. Yield 16-20 servings.
