Pecan Cake with Caramel Icing

Ingredients
1 stick butter
1 cup sugar
1 1/2 cups self-rising flour
2 eggs
1/2 cup sweet milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup pecans, chopped
Caramel Icing:
2 cups light brown sugar
1 cup sweet milk
1 tablespoon butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup pecans, chopped
Directions
Cream butter and add sugar, mixing well. Add eggs one at a time, beating after each addition. Sift flour once before measuring, then sift twice again and add to mixture, alternating with milk. Add vanilla and pecans. Pour mixture into two cake pans and bake at 350 degrees until cakes test done.
Caramel Icing:
Cook the sugar and milk until it forms a soft ball when placed in cold water. Add butter and vanilla and beat until spreading consistency. Add pecans.
