6 pork chops, cut thick
3/4 cup celery, chopped
3/4 cup onion, chopped
3 tablespoons butter
3 cups day-old bread crumbs
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
2 tart apples, sliced
Brown chops and set aside. Sauté celery and onions in butter. Add bread crumbs and seasonings. Mix well. Place bread mixture on bottom of a buttered casserole dish. Top with chops. Place several slices of apple on each chop. Cover with foil and bake at 300 degrees for 1 1/2 hours.
