2 1/2 cups sugar
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup white Karo syrup
2 egg whites
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 pinch salt
1 cup pecan pieces
1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
Make a syrup of the sugar, water and Karo syrup. Cook until it spins a web. Whip egg whites stiff. Slowly pour syrup into egg whites and stir. When well mixed, add salt, vanilla and cream of tartar. When cooler and drier, put in pecan pieces. When it firms up a bit, drop on wax paper. Makes about 28 medium-sized pieces.
