Blueberry-Pear Coffeecake

1 3/4 cups all purpose flour
3/4 cup sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
3/4 cup plus 1 tablespoon buttermilk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/3 cup butter or margarine, melted
2 eggs. beaten
1 cup fresh or frozen blueberries (if using frozen, rinse and pat dry before adding to batter)
2 cups pears- pared, cored and thinly sliced
1 teaspoon grated lemon peel
1/3 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
3 tablespoons butter or margarine
3/4 cup powdered sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 tablespoon softened butter or margarine
1 tablespoon milk
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. In a large bowl, combine all dry ingredients; add next four ingredients, stirring until moistened. Fold in blueberries. Pour into a 9-inch greased baking pan. Top batter with sliced pear and lemon peel. Next, top pears and lemon peel with sugar topping and bake at 375 degrees for 30 to 40 minutes or until knife inserted in center comes out clean. Blend well ingredients for the glaze and drizzle over warm cake.
