Mexican Corn Bread

1 1/2 cups self-rising cornmeal
2/3 cup vegetable oil
2 eggs
2 tablespoons green pepper, finely chopped
2 small jalapeƱo peppers, finely chopped
1 can yellow creamed corn
1 cup buttermilk
2 cups sharp Cheddar cheese, grated
Mix all ingredients, except cheese. Grease a heavy skillet. Pour half the batter into the skillet. Cover with half the cheese. Pour on remaining batter and top with remaining cheese. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. Allow bread to cool 15 minutes before removing from pan.
