Choc-Oat-Chip Cookies

2 sticks butter or margarine, softened
1 1/4 cups firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
2 eggs
2 tablespoons milk
2 teaspoons vanilla
1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt, optional
2 1/2 cup oats, uncooked
1 bag (12 ounces) semisweet chocolate morsels
1 cup coarsely chopped nuts
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Beat butter and sugars until creamy. Add eggs, milk, and vanilla and beat well. Add flour, baking soda and salt. Stir oats, chocolate chips and nuts. Drop by rounded tablespoons onto a greased cookie sheet. Bake 9 to 10 minutes for a chewy cookie and 12 to 13 minutes for a crispier cookie, Cool 1 minute on the cookie sheet then remove cookies ti a wire rack to cool completely. Makes about 5 dozen cookies.
