Ingredients
20 large mellow apples
4 cups water
2 1/2 cups sugar
Directions
Wash, core and quarter apples. Remove any bruised portions. Add water and cook until softened. Press through a sieve to remove skins. Add sugar and bring to a boil. Pack applesauce while boiling hot. Pack into sterilized jars to within 1/2 inch of the top. Put on cap and screw band firmly. Process 25 minutes in boiling water bath. Yields about 4 pints.
