Crockpot Chicken and Dressing

5 or 6 bone in chicken breasts or 1 whole chicken cut up.
8 slices torn white bread
1 -8” skillet dried cornbread crumbled (Use Martha White)
2 cans cream of chicken soup
2 soup cans of left over chicken broth from boiling chicken
1 medium onion chopped
½ c. chopped celery
4 eggs beaten
2 tsp. ground sage
Salt & pepper to taste
3 T. butter
Combine the chicken with enough broth or water (I prefer chicken broth) to cover chicken. Bring to boil. Reduce heat and simmer until done. Remove chicken and reserve broth. Tear chicken into bite size pieces. Discard skin and bones. Combine breads in large bowl. Mix well. Stir in soup, onion, celery eggs, sage & S&P. Add 2 soup cans of reserved broth and chicken. Mix well. Spoon into crock pot that has been sprayed with Pam. Dot with butter. Cook covered on low 5-6 hours until desired consistency. Can add additional broth at end if it is too dry. Serves 12-14.
