November: Biscuits
Pioneer EC
2 cups Self-Rising flour - sifted
1/3 cup Crisco Oil
1 cup Buttermilk
Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
Spray a cast iron skillet (small) with Cooking Spray/
Add buttermilk and oil to flour. Stirring well, until well blended with a fork, until you get it to the desired thickness.
Pour into prepared skillet.
Bake in preheated oven for 10-15 minutes, or until desired brownness, and until done.
Place into serving dish. Cut into serving sizes.

Enjoy! Serve with syrup, jelly, preserves or just by itself.

Note: You can also pour your batter into flour, knead well and roll into desired biscuits, if desired. I also have a “heart shaped” muffin tin, that I just spoon batter into, and it works well, too.
Tell us about your recipe
When I got married I wanted to cook Biscuits like my mother-in-laws, because they were so good. Buy you could knock a barn down with my biscuits. Eventually I watched my brother's wife prepare biscuits, mixing them with a fork, so I found this recipe in a cookbook, tried it, and the rest is history. My grandson calls the Wheel - Spokes!!!!

My father-in-law would cook this when his wife was either away or sick, and he always called it a Wheel.
