|1 Box German Chocolate cake mix
14 oz package of caramel kisses
1/2 cup milk
1 stick of margarine
1 cup chocolate chips
1 cup pecan pieces
|Heat oven to 325 degrees. Grease a 9 x 13 baking dish with shortening.
Make the cake by adding ingredients according to the directions on the box.
Pour half of the cake batter into the dish and bake for 15 minutes.
Melt a 14 oz. pkg. of caramel kisses. Add 1/2 cup milk and 1 stick of margarine. Bring to a boil. Pour over cake.
Sprinkle 1 cup chocolate chips and 1 cup pecan pieces on top.
Pour on the rest of the cake batter and bake 20 minutes more, checking it closely.

|I have my mother's hand written recipe for this cake. She raised 6 children and was a very good cook. She died in 1995 at age 76. So I cherish it written in her own writing.
