Date-Pineapple Pudding

1 cup plain flour, sifted
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup dates, chopped
1 cup crushed pineapple
1/4 cup milk
2 cups water
1 cup packed brown sugar
1 tablespoon butter
Sift flour, sugar, baking powder and salt together in large bowl; stir in dates, pineapple and milk. Pour into greased 13x9x2-inch baking dish. combine water, brown sugar and butter in saucepan; bring to a boil. boil 1 minute; pour over pudding. Bake in preheated oven for 35 minutes or until done.
