Grandma Myrtle's Chocolate Pudding

3 helping tablespoons self-rising flour
1/4 stick butter
1 1/2 cups sugar
3 tablespoons cocoa
1 tablespoon vanilla flavoring
3 cups milk
Stir flour, sugar and cocoa together in a medium saucepan. Add milk and butter. Stir with whisk to dissolve dry ingredients. cook over medium heat until desired thickness, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat. Add vanilla. Stir well. Serve in vowels or can be poured in a baked pie crust.
