1 pound chicken, cut into pieces
1 pound pork, cut into pieces
1 head garlic, minced
1/2 yellow onion, diced
1/2 cup soy sauce
1 cup vinegar
2 cups water
1 teaspoon paprika
5 bay leaves
4 tablespoons olive oil
2 tablespoons cornstarch
Salt and pepper
3 tablespoons water
In large pan, heat 2 tablespoons oil and sauté garlic and onion. Add meat, 2 cups water, 1/4 cup soy sauce, vinegar, paprika and bay leaves. Bring to a boil, cover & simmer for 30 minutes or until meat is tender. Remove meat from pot. In another pan, heat oil and brown meat for a few minutes. Mix browned meat back into sauce. Add cornstarch to 3 tablespoons of water to dissolve and add to sauce. Add remaining soy sauce and salt and pepper to taste. Bring to a boil and then simmer for an additional 5 minutes. Serve with rice.
