* This recipe was taken from a New York Herald Tribune, "This Week" magazine dated October 8, 1944. My son found the magazine in an old house he is helping remodel in Wadley, Alabama.
Halve cold, had-boiled eggs. Remove yolks and mash, season with salt, pepper, vinegar and enough salad dressing to form thick paste. Fill egg whites with mixture, leveling off. Dip egg halves in finely ground bread crumbs, then in beaten egg, and again in crumbs. Fry in skillet containing about 1/4 inch hot Crisco. Turn as needed to brown entire surface.
