Ingredients
1 cup Crisco
2 cups sugar
4 eggs
2 teaspoons baking powder
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup milk
1 tablespoon butternut flavoring
Pinch of salt
Filling:
1 stick softened margarine
1 box confectioners' sugar
1 softened carton cream cheese
1 tablespoon butternut flavoring
1 cup chopped pecans
2 drops yellow food coloring
Directions
Cream shortening sugar and eggs at high speed with an electric mixer for 10 minutes. Add once up of flour and baking powder, beat at medium speed. Add remaining flour and milk, beat for one minute at medium speed. Add flavoring. Place in four cake pans for four layers. bake at 350 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes. Let cool.
Filling: Combine filling ingredients and spread on cooled cake.
