1 large green pepper
1 large onion
1/2 cup celery, small stalks and leaves
1/4 cup butter
1 pound ground round
1 can tomato puree or sauce
1 cup water or tomato juice
2 heaping cups uncooked noodles
1 large can whole grain yellow corn
Salt and chili pepper to taste
1 can medium or large rip lives
1 cup grated cheddar cheese
Chop onion, pepper and celery. Saute in oil until tender only. Add meat and cook until almost done (no red). Add tomato puree or sauce and water. A can of tomatoes or diluted tomato soup may be substituted. Add broken noodles, stir and cook until noodles are tender- adding more water or tomato juice if needed. Add corn, chili or red pepper to taste, then chopped olives. Add grated cheese over press into top of mixture to moisten. Cook 30-45 minutes at 350 degrees (do not brown cheese). Let stand for about 15 minutes and serve in baking dish.
