Butterscotch Pecan Pie

1 12-ounce package (2 cups) butterscotch morsels
1 cup dark corn syrup
4 eggs
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup pecan halves
Unbaked large pie shell
Whipped cream, optional
Preheated oven to 350 degrees. Melt butterscotch morsels in a double boiler over hot water (or use the microwave). Remove from heat and set aside. In a large bowl, combine corn syrup, eggs and salt and beat well. Gradually blend in melted butterscotch and beat until smooth. Stir in pecans. Pour into an unbaked large pie shell. Place on cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes. Cool and garnish with whipped cream if desired.
Note: This recipe doesn't need sugar because butterscotch replaces it.
