1 3-pound chicken
1 package of 8-inch flour tortillas
2 cans (10 ounces each) cream of chicken soup
2 tablespoons margarine
1 can chicken broth, plus broth from chicken
Salt and pepper to taste
Boil chicken in 2 1/2 quarts water. Add salt and pepper to boiling water. Cook for 45 minutes or until done. Remove chicken and debone. Add margarine and cream of chicken soup to broth left from chicken. Add can of broth. Cut tortillas into 1-inch strips and add to boiling broth a few at a time. Stir continuously. Cover and cook on low heat for five minutes. Return chicken to broth mixture and continue cooking a few minutes until dumplings are tender. Add more salt if necessary and a lot of pepper.
