Bacon and Cheese Biscuits

1/c cup shortening
2 cups self-rising flour
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/3 cup crisply cooked bacon, crumbled
2/3 to 3/4 cup milk
Heat oven to 450 degrees. Cut shortening into flour until crumbly. Stir in cheese and bacon. Stir in enough milk until soft dough forms. Turn dough onto lightly floured surface. Knead gently ten times. Roll or pat dough 1/2-inch thick. Cut with floured 2 1/20inch cutter. Place about 1 inch apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 11 to 13 minutes or until golden brown. Makes about 10 biscuits.
