20 caramels, unwrapped
3 tablespoons light corn syrup
2 tablespoons butter margarine
5 cups unsalted popped popcorn
2/3 cup mixed salted nuts, chopped
1/2 cup dark raisins
Line a 9-inch square baking pan with foil letting ends extend above pan on two sides. Butter the foil. In a large saucepan, over low heat, stir caramels, corn syrup and butter until caramels melt. Before removing from heat, stir in popcorn, nuts and raisins until coated. Pour into prepared pan. Cover with waxed paper and press into and even layer. Let stand until firm, about 30 minutes. Lift foil by ends and remove from pan. Invert onto a cutting board and remove foil. Cut into squares and store, loosely covered, at room temperature for up to 1 week.
