Ingredients
2 1/2 cups cake flour
2 large eggs
1 1/2 cups sugar
3/4 teaspoon vinegar
1 1/2 cups vegetable oil
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup buttermilk
1 2-ounce bottle red food coloring
Frosting:
16 ounces cream cheese
1 box powdered sugar
1 stick butter, melted
1 cup finely chopped pecans
Pecans halves for garnish
Directions
Combine cake ingredients and mix well. Grease 2 standard cake pans with butter or butter-flavored spray. Pour batter evenly into pans and bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until tested done. Combine frosting ingredients. Cool cake before frosting. Decorate with pecan halves.
