Strawberry Cobbler

2 cups fresh strawberries
1 stick (1/2 cup) butter or margarine
1 1/4 cups sugar
1 cup self-rising flour
1 cup milk
Wash the strawberries, remove the stems, and cut the berries into fourths. Put them in a bowl and pour 1/4 cup sugar over them and toss. Set aside. Melt the stick of butter in a 9x9 casserole dish in a preheated oven set to 400 degrees. Mix together 1 cup sugar, flour, and milk. Pour batter into casserole dish on top of melted butter. Do not stir. Pour strawberries into casserole on top of batter. Separate strawberries with a fork without stirring. Bake 25 minutes or until golden brown.
