Ingredients
1 pound ground beef
1 medium onion, chopped
4 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 cup jalapeno peppers, finely chopped (optional)
32 oz. diced tomatoes
2 15 oz. cans black beans (drained)
2 Tablespoons brown sugar
2 Tablespoons chili powder
1 Tablespoon vinegar
1 Tablespoon mustard
1 teaspoon salt
dash of pepper
Directions
Cook beef, onion, garlic, and jalapeno pepper until meat is browned. Drain. Add remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil; reduce heat. Cover and simmer 15 minutes or until heated through.

I've been making this thick, warming chili for years, tweaking the recipe until it has become our family's favorite chili. We enjoy a bowl of it topped with a dollop of sour cream, grated cheddar cheese and a side of cornbread.
