Frozen Cranberry Banana Salad

1 20-ounce can crushed pineapple
5 medium firm bananas, halved lengthwise and sliced
1 16-ounce can whole berry cranberry sauce
½ cup sugar
½ cup chopped pecans
1 12-ounce carton frozen whipped topping, thawed
Drain and save pineapple juice in a medium bowl, set juice aside. Slice bananas and add to juice to coat. In a large bowl, combine cranberry sauce and sugar. Mix well. Remove bananas; discard juice and add bananas to cranberry mixture. Stir in pecans, pineapple and cool whip (do not beat). Pour into a 13x9-inch glass dish. Freeze until solid. Cut into squares and serve frozen. Yields 12-16 servings.
