|1/2 Cup Sugar
1/2 Cup Orange Juice
2 Cups Canola Oil
2 tsp. Cinnamon
1/4 tsp, Nutmeg
6 1/2 Cups Plain Flour
2 Cups Chopped Pecans
Juice of 1/2 Lemon
2 Cups of HONEY and 1 Cup of Water
|1. Blend oil, sugar and seasonings. Add Orange Juice and juice of lemon.
2. Add flour until a smooth dough is formed. Knead gently, then add nuts.
3. Pinch off small portions of dough and form into little oblong rolls.
4. Place on greased pan and bake @ 375 for 35 minutes.
5. When well browned, remove from oven. While still warm, dip in syrup as follows:
Mix the honey and water and place in a large pot and once hot, simmer on low. Dip cookies into syrup, but do
not allow them to become soggy. Place on large platter and allow to cool. Keep syrup warm during dipping
process. Makes 40-50 pieces.
