3 Cups AP Flour
1 Tablespoon Baking Powder
1 tsp salt
1/4 Cup Honey
1 Bottle of Beer
4 tablespoons Butter
1/4 Cup optional ingredients
**Optional** Shredded Cheese, olives, jalapenos and 1 teaspoon (or more if you like) Italian seasoning blend.
1. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Grease a 9 x 5 x 3-inch bread loaf pan.
2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder and salt until combined. Slowly pour the beer and honey into the flour mixture, add optional ingredients if you desire and stir until combined.
3. Pour half of the melted butter into the bottom of the loaf pan, and spread it around evenly. Then add the batter to the pan in an even layer, and brush the rest of the butter around evenly on top of the batter.
4. Bake for 40 to 50 minutes, until the top of the bread is golden brown and a toothpick or knife inserted in the middle comes out clean.
Tell us about your recipe
The great thing about this beer bread recipe is the simplicity in which to make bread with no kneading involved! When choosing a beer to add to the bread remember if you select a strong flavored beer, that flavor will be imparted in your bread. The picture of the bread I have included contains 1/4 cup of chopped ripe olives and Italian seasoning.
