Southern Pecan Pie

4 large eggs
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup corn syrup
2 Tbs. Butter melted
1 ts. Vanilla
1 cup pecans chopped
1 unbaked 9 inch pie shell
Mix first five ingredients together and pour into pie shell. Put chopped pecans on top. Bake at 350 until until set, approximately 45 minutes minutes.

This recipe comes from my grandmother whom was one of the finest baker's around. She had 10 kids and the six daughters still continue to pass on the tradition of this fabulous pie. My mother is 91 and the oldest of the girls and bakes wonderful tasting pies but this one is her favorite. I will continue the tradition of baking this pie as my friends say it's the best pecan pie they've ever had! We are so fortunate to live in South Baldwin County where pecan trees are all around and we can get fresh pecans!
