Cream Cheese Pound Cake

Ingredients
  • 8 Ounce cream cheese
  • 3 Sticks margarine
  • 3 Cups sugar
  • 3 Cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 Tsp baking powder
  • 5 Each eggs
  • 1 & 1/2 Tsp vanilla
  • 1 Dash salt
  • Bakers Joy Spray
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
  2. Cream margarine, cream cheese, and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add salt and vanilla, mixing well.
  4. Next, add in eggs, one at the time, beating well after each addition.
  5. Sift in flour and baking powder.
  6. Grease tube or bundt pan well with the Bakers Joy spray.
  7. I also sprinkle lightly with flour just for good measure ( It always comes out great ).
  8. Pour batter into pan and bake at 325 degrees for 1 and 1/2 hours.
  9. Don’t open the oven door. Once removed from the oven, I let it cool for about 30 minutes and then remove from the pan to continue cooling.
Notes

My husband is a lineman for Pea River Electric Co-op. This is one of his favorite cakes!  I usually bake at least two or three of these a month for various gatherings. It is easy, but so very yummy!
