Chrysalis, A Home for Girls presents their 7th annual Butterfly Fling on Sunday, April 28th at Landmark Park’s playground area from 2 to 4 p.m. Bring the family out for an afternoon of crafts, face painting, games, playground fun, and the release of hundreds of butterflies to end the event. Wristbands good for activities, one butterfly, and all-day admittance to Landmark Park are $10 each in advance and $12 the day of the event, with no charge for other attendees. Chrysalis is an organization that provides a safe, nurturing, family environment to girls who are in need of therapeutic foster care between the ages of 10 and 20. The program offers trained specialists to assist the girls in their journey back to physical and emotional health. Up to 14 girls can reside at our home at any given time, and the program has helped hundreds of girls since it first opened in 1988. Most of the girls are from the Wiregrass area, but Chrysalis also accepts referrals from all over Alabama.
