This 3.1-mile or one-mile trail run at Oak Mountain State Park is a fundraiser for Bama Bully Rescue (BBR), which rescues pit bull-type dogs from Alabama animal shelters. Runners (and walkers) can register online at www.bamabully.org/rftb. The online registration cost is $30 for 5K runners and $10 for fun runners. Participants can also register on the day of the event for $40 (5K) and $10 (fun run). All 5K runners are eligible to receive a swag bag of items donated by generous sponsors, plus they can register their canine coach for just $10. Registered dogs will receive a BBR bandanna plus a chance to medal alongside their humans! BBR encourages runners and family members alike to come and shop for BBR t-shirts and other merchandise and bid on a wide variety of raffle items.
All the money raised from race registration and merchandise sales will go toward veterinary care for pit bull-type dogs pulled from Alabama shelters and placed in the BBR network of foster homes.
