The Banding Coalition of the Americas and Dauphin Island Bird Sanctuaries have teamed up to present a public banding event on April 5-9 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily. Federally-licensed banders capture migrating birds in thin nets, then weigh and measure them while talking with visitors about the bird (before a safe release). This is a free, family-friendly event. Parking and restrooms are located at 661 Bienville Blvd in Cadillac Square. See our Facebook page (Banding Coalition of the Americas) or website (bandingcoalition.org) for what to bring and details.
